==**NECC 2009 - A Recap**==
I hope everyone has recovered from NECC and the 4th of July weekend that followed.

The SIG has accomplished a lot since the beginning of the year. Membership has continued to increase and activity and volunteers are getting more involved. We are about to submit our yearly report to ISTE and as a result of our activity, the report is very easy to write.

The SIG is working on a number of activities for the fall and spring that will lead the SIG into next year’s NECC. Before we start talking about NECC 2010, let me recap our success at NECC 2009 this year. [[NECC 2009|Read more...]]

==Mission==
SIGGS is a special interest group dedicated to understanding and advancing the utilization, integration, design, development, and evaluation of games, simulations, and virtual environments for teaching and learning. Members are concerned with issues related to the advancement and understanding of how games, simulations, and virtual environments impact teaching, learning, and education in general. Through initiatives, services, and outreach, the SIG serves to advance ISTE’s mission by developing and disseminating resources available to practitioners, researchers, and developers committed to improving teaching and learning using games and simulations.
